Double Door’s is located in not only a fantastic and lively neighborhood but also in close to Wicker Park’s six corner intersection.
Owner Brian Strauss accepted a bid from Speedwagon Properties to buy the building but even since then the fate of the old music venue has been uncertain.
“Rumors of the sale floated for weeks before county records revealed Speedwagon tendered an affidavit of interest to Strauss for the building last month, reports DNA Info. Strauss served Double Door’s owners with eviction papers, as well,” says Chuck Sudo in a Bisnow article.
As of yet, the what is going to happen now is also unclear but the building could be redeveloped into a high-end retail.
