If you were in Logan Square yesterday between Milwaukee and Fullerton enjoying the lovely yet highly unusual 60 degree weather, then you may have noticed the road closure and the freshly sprinkled out batch of snow. Word around town is that a film (with no-name as of yet) for Amazon was being filmed at Gaslight Coffee Roasters since the scene was a coffee shop scene.

What a sweet way for the city to say goodbye to the winter but with a sprinkling of snowy magic without all the chill!

Navy Pier has big and bold plans brewing! On the 2nd of March they announced that they would be moving forward with their plans to expand their Shakespeare Theater since they have raised half of the $30 million they need.

The money will allow them to build a large third stage, which they are hoping will allow them to host bigger touring productions. Considering that Navy Pier is the city’s number 1 most-visited tourist destination, this sounds like exactly what it needs to carry that legacy forward.

A unique new bar is making its way to Logan Square right next to the newly renovated Johnny’s Grill. Mezcaleria Las Flores, a bar that specializes in the smoky Mexican agave spirit known as Mezcal, will be opening this coming Monday for business.

Jay Schroeder is one of the few Mezcal experts in the United States and used to work as Rick Bayless’ mixologist so you know that he has to be good! All of the Mezcal drinks are unique not only in flavor but also in presentation seeing as they are served in gourds and the likes.

Um, did someone just say 30 days of pizza?! This year is going to be Chicago’s first ever Pizza Summit, in which 12 of the city’s best pizza establishments will come together at Chop Shop for all you can eat pizza! Unfortunately, the tickets to that delicious event is all sold out but you can meet at Logan Square’s Boiler Room tomorrow, March 4th, for a day of pizza events.

Anyone who orders a Chicago Slice and an Old Style Light will receive an Old Style -shaped pizza plate and will also have a chance to win a ticket to the glorious pizza summit.
