They will be higher-end condos with what he is calling “Lincoln Park finishes.” There will also be nine condos and 3 commercial spaces at 2860 N. Milwaukee and the first-floor commercial space at Wolfram is not likely be used as a retail space but as a gym for its tenants or something similar.

Megamall has had a ridiculously long run–a 20 year one to be exact–until it was purchased back in September of 2014 by developer Scott Gendell of Terraco. The development which will be taking its place is Logan Crossing (which I have talked about in a previous entry) will contain 240 residential units as well as a gym and grocery store.
Demolition of the mall will take place in the next four weeks and construction for Logan Crossing will begin in October or early November.

On this blog, I spend a great deal of time talking about Logan Square because, well, the name of the blog should suffice as reason enough. But Logan is not the only neighborhood that is hot right now. Edgewater and Andersonville are also hot places to live.
According to this article on DNAinfo by Linze Rice and new data from Redfin, the average sale price for homes in Edgewater have gone up 50 percent! People who bought properties in the area years ago and have waited for the market to take a turn for the better can really reap the benefits now that it is doing so well.

Chiya Chai Cafe which will specialize in–you guessed it–chai, is set to open in mid-May at 2770 N. Milwaukee. The Nepalese family who own the cafe will be serving up 15 of their very own specialties of chai as well as some dishes that from various regions where tea is well-loved like India, China and England.
They will also have a booth at the Logan Square Farmers Market for those who can’t wait until May and want to give their chai a shot.

It’s all a little hush hush when concerning Land & Sea Dept taking over Ronny’s place at 2101 N. California. But due to a leaked photo an Everyblock user posted, we know that the interior has been gutted. We don’t know a whole lot as of now except that the permit is for “interior renovation for a new tavern/restaurant,” and the likelihood that Paul McGee will be serving up beverages.
