
We know about the new developments happening in Logan Square, heck, if you live in the area like I do then you are likely feeling the effects of new construction via random bouts of excessive traffic. It seems now that a new development in the South Loop has quietly snuck in to nab a piece of the development boom pie.
Wood Partners intends to build a 33-story apartment tower in the busy little area which will have 496 units. The site was bought last December for $15.5 million from McCaffery Interests and it seems the site is part of a planned development from 1999. And since no new zoning permits are required and the weather seems to be getting warmer, looks like construction will be starting any day now.
The question is, are there too many rental buildings being erected in Chicago?
