The latest proposal for a building amidst the slew of others that have emerged over the last few months, is for a 95 unit building to be located at 2841-45 west Belden, one of the busiest spots in Logan Square. It will be built on a 17,500 square foot plot of land and will have 44 parking spots.
However, not everyone is taking the news of a new construction lightly. Many anti-gentrification activists were present at the meeting when the proposal was unveiled and members of Somos Logan Square wanted an increase in the percentage of affordable housing, arguing for up to 50 percent of the units to qualify for affordable housing.
