
2016 is supposed to be a massive year of building openings in Chicago according to this Bisnow article compiled by by Chuck Sudo. Check out the locations and little tid bits below:
1. Location: 1000 South Clark Street
What: JDL Development and iStar Financial will be debuting a 29-story, 469-unit building that is set to be completed in February.
2. Location: 1001 South State Street
What: Developers Golub and CIM are erecting a 39-story, 397-unit building on land that used to be a police station and should be completed by the summer.
3. Conrad Chicago/101 East Erie Street
What: A 290-key hotel that is constructed by the Magnificent Mile and next to Streeterville that is set to be done by spring.
4. Kimpton Hotel/39 South LaSalle
What: What used to be the New York Life building will be turned into a 281-room hotel with a ballroom, a retail floor, and a bar.
5. Mila/200 North Michigan
What: This gorgeous building close to Millennium Park will feature 41-stories with 402-units and will debut in the summer.
6. River Point/444 West Lake Street
What: This is suppose to be the largest riverside plaze in the city and will have some heard-of clientele. With 52 stories, it is supposed to be done by late fall.
7. Londonhouse/360 North Michigan Avenue
What: Oxford Capital Group had built a 22-story Modernist tower to go hand-in-hand with with the London Guarantee building. he hotel is set to open in the spring.
8. Wolf Point West/350 West Mart Drive
What: There will be two towers close to River North and downtown, both are expected to be up and running before the end of this year.
