There has been quite a bit of talk about the proposal to construct two transit-oriented towers in Logan Square but not all that talk has been in favor of this project. As one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in Chicago, these buildings would provide the intersections of California and Milwaukee with 220 dwelling units, accessory parking and more exposure for the area.
Although much of the community is welcoming this new project, others are validly concerned about the height of these structures and how much traffic this will cause in the already bustling locale. Alderman Joe Moreno and developer Rob Buono are also under a bit of heat over the way they have handled the community meeting for the proposal.
On March 30th Moreno stated on his Twitter, “The community meeting is over, but the conversation is far from done. Please contact me with any concerns/comments.” The projects seems to be underway and is to be presented to the Chicago Plan Commision on April 16th.
