We’ve been hearing about the issue of gentrification in Logan Square–which is also slowly seeping into Humboldt Park–for some time now. Long-time residents of both neighborhoods are being pushed out by their increasing property taxes while other nearby residents fear that due to new developments and higher rent prices, they will soon have to pack up their things as well.
So it comes as no surprise that a local activist group known as We Are/Somos Logan Square are marching to Associated Bank in the West Loop hoping to get them to lower rent on the units in the currently-under-construction Dual Towers on Milwaukee and Belden.
