It’s a given that since the 606 Trail opened during the summer of 2015, the value of homes and nearby properties have significantly gone up. Which explains why the former plot that used to be Rockstar Pets is going up for sale this week at 2.3 million.
The land is located at 1801 North Winnebago Avenue, close to the eastern end of the Bloomingdale Trail. The owners of the former pet boarding and daycare center Elissa Ferguson and her partner Alex Rodriquez, explained that due to the hike in their rent (jumping an extra $1,000 per month) unfortunately gave them no other choice but to move.
The land has been owned by Jim Viola since 1987 and thinks it will be a prime spot for townhomes or single-family homes. Although Viola hopes to sell the land to a developer, if he is unable to find a buyer he will rent it out, likely to another pet daycare.
